Aircraft Twirls Wildly into Palm Fronds at Well-Known California Shoreline
A helicopter flying above a crowded coastal coastline abruptly started spinning out of control, eventually losing altitude and crashing into a line of palm groves as onlookers watched.
Footage uploaded on the internet depict the chopper commencing to spiral near Huntington Beach then plunging towards the border of the shore, where it becomes wedged between palms and a set of stairs near the coastal road.
First Aid Details
Local firefighters said five individuals were transported to a medical facility comprising two who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” following the accident on Saturday.
Three people on the street were harmed. Information on their injuries were still under review.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.
Planned Function
Officials said the chopper was linked to an yearly “Cars N Copters” charity gathering planned for the following day.
