British Military Facilities to Accommodate Asylum Seekers in Bid to Cease Hotel Use

Military housing facility

Several hundred refugee applicants might be placed in military barracks as the government seeks to terminate the use of hotels.

Talks are in progress regarding the utilization of two sites - a facility in the Scottish region and another in the southern England - for housing for 900 men.

The PM has instructed Domestic Affairs and Defense Department representatives to expedite efforts to identify appropriate defense facilities.

The government has committed to end the use of asylum hotels, which have consumed billions of pounds and turned into a central issue for immigration opposition demonstrations.

Under Consideration Military Facilities

Asylum seekers might be accommodated in the Cameron military facility in Inverness and East Sussex training site in East Sussex by the end of next month.

Industrial sites, interim housing and otherwise disused accommodation are also being reviewed for possible utilization.

Administration Commitments

Government sources indicated that every facility would comply with wellbeing requirements.

"The government remains furious at the level of unauthorized immigrants and temporary hotel accommodations."

"The current leadership will shut down every asylum hotel. Efforts are progressing effectively, with additional appropriate locations being identified to ease pressure on resident populations and reduce refugee accommodation expenses."

Existing Shelter Figures

Approximately 32,000 asylum seekers are presently being sheltered in hotels, representing a drop from a maximum of over 56,000 in last year.

A newly released analysis found that substantial amounts of taxpayers' money had been "misused" on refugee housing.

Prior Military Facility Usage

Two former military sites - MDP Wethersfield in southeastern England and former military base in the southern county - are already being utilized to accommodate asylum seekers after being commissioned under the former administration.

The government leader remarked on the circumstances, saying: "We remain resolved to terminate each temporary accommodation facility. I can't tell you how frustrated and angry I am that we've been left with a mess as substantial as the current circumstances by the former leadership."
